Real Simple recipes--I just made myself a baked rotini casserole with red cabbage, bayakyaw fragments,

small can of tomato paste, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic (powders), some meat loaf seasoning and grated cheese on top.
Boil rotini to al dente (not too soft). Drain.
Make sauce in what else, a saucepan. Add italicized ingredients except breadcrumbs.
Bring sauce to boil, lower heat and simmer, add pre-soaked dried mushrooms, mushroom soaking liquid--be careful--don't add soil from mushrooms to your sauce.
Wash about 1/4 to 1/2 of red cabbage, slice, add all to the pot, simmer till cabbage tender.
To make up--oil bakeproof ceramic dish.
Layer in rotini, whole wheat is best. Add breadcrumbs, bean fritter fragments.
Add about 2 cups of sauce which will be nice deep red color, top with grated cheddar cheese--1/2 to 1 cup.
Bake 350F 15 mins. Remove from oven with heat-proof gloves.
Remember to turn off oven.
Serve hot.
Nice with bread but I don'thave bread.
Rotini will provide starch. Very nice, mild flavor.
