People with COVID-19 should receive supportive care to help relieve symptoms. There is no specific antiviral treatment recommended for COVID-19.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, everyone should:
Clean your hands often, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Stay at home as much as possible.
Put distance between yourself and other people (at least 6 feet).
Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces daily.

Just don't get it in the first place.
Don't go out unless necessary. Wear masks and gloves and use properly.
Also reports of death by hyper coagulation, blood clots forming in brain and young (less than age 50) victims.
Take care, stay safe.

Virus was already in USA via flights from Italy to NY, 16,000 involving 10,000 people, when Trump instituted China travel ban.
(Trump had an altercation with an Asian American reporter concerning this. The reporter was correct, the virus was already here.)
"Back door open when front door closed."
Why NY is most affected.
We are on the downward curve, but how fast will it fall and how quickly. (Projections)
*Projections if we go back to reopen tomorrow.
There will be a drastic upturn and it will be worse this time and the peak will be higher on the 2nd wave.
Repartee to McConnell who suggested states go bankrupt.
NY has put in more into the Federal pot than it takes out Every Year.
"Just give me back my money, Mr McC."
KY (Kentucky, McC's state) on other hand, has taken out more than it puts in.
Cuomo then gave data for NY as high on list of Givers
and KY as high on list of Takers.
He then told uplifting story of farmer with a dying wife who had 5 masks and sent one to NY.
Ended with NY Tough, Smart, Unified, Loving.
I think it's an Excellent presentation and worth listening to in detail and transcribing, wh I will do for myself in a bit.
If you wish, you do it too.

Daniel Defoe, Plague Diary, 1665
written in 18th century
What an accurate observer, with all the death stats. Just amazing. He was Gov. Andrew Cuomo of his day.

CNN: Sadly, a study from France shows hydrochloroquine to have no effect. 84 patients took the drug, 97 took a placebo. There was no difference in outcomes except that some of the 84 developed heart problems, a known side effect of the drug.

First written and translated in 1948, it's easy to see why it's a classic and Camus won the Nobel Prize,
It must have never gone out of print and I wonder if the price went up in recent days.
I'll buy it when my Stimulas check arrives.
I'll look to see if there's a Project Guttenberg free e-copy online.
A previous book by Camus that I bought in Bkk was so depressing, I marked it at 25 c and then gave it away free to an Indian couple who didn't have 25 c on them--nice conversation last summer, when I had my flea market table, but I didn't see them again.
I guess no libraries open now and no flea markets or July 4 fireworks/receptions either--though if there are fireworks I cld see them from my window. It's like looking at photos of all the difft foods I made such a char sui bao, that I can't eat now.
I am trying to lighten my C drive by deleted all the copies.
Well then, if you can't afford to buy this book, at least read the summary on Wikipedia.

This below is drone footage that came out today of mass graves on NY's Hart Island.
The trench maybe dug by bulldozer, but I see only one fork lift and the plain coffins are being stacked by prisoners in protective clothing, by hand, with spades and shovels.
It looks like they are spaced 6 inches apart and stacked in 3 levels, and plywood sheets laid on top, so maybe they are planning more levels, which wld make them "shallow graves" when finished.
No cremation! You know viruses can lay/lie dormant in ground for millions of years, a lot of new ones discovered in N and S poles.
You will need to open a Twitter acct to see this site. I don't think it's a fake since the death toll was over 800 in NY 2 days ago, that is, that day, not cumulative. That trench might not fit 800+ coffins. There have also been shots of remains being loaded onto refrigerated trucks at hospitals.
Pl take good care, go out less and use masks, even at home, where you shld also distance fr other family members.

I guess it must be the same with Burmese workers in Thailand and Rangoon.
The world is going to a new very low level equilibrium, but its crust is shaking less, and air is cleaner.
Crime and traffic accidents in NY are down.
I guess Water Festival is cancelled in Burma and Thailand. Ppl used to go to Bangkok for organ donations due to accidents during festival.
Have to read up on Black Death.

The live stream will have stopped now, but you can find the app or whatever and watch each one every day.
The reason I say this is Gov, Cuoma is about the only one talking sense these days.
Dr Fauci is being limited and maybe threatened by Trump, who won't let him speak.
The reporters are as always too busy with micro(economic or political) matters.
Dr Birx has turned out to be an ass licker.
Cuomo is well placed to look at micro as well as macro, as he's a Governer and NY is an important state with a large economy, large population and now having to deal with the largest number of coronavirus cases, and dealing with it well.
There are other governers, but NY is where the coronavirus is peaking right now, and it's also close to where I am geographically.
Summary: (Note, I only catch the end parts every day, but it is good enough)
1. Peak may be months long.
1918 flu pandemic peaked for 6 months and killed 30,000 in NY (City?) alone.
Since this is 2020, we are better informed and know more about diseases in general.
(From material provided c/o Ma D. States will peak at difft times)
2. It's a matter of WE not ME.
He says he too would like to go out and enjoy the good weather, but it's not a responsible thing to do.
Yesterday he spoke of going to funerals (his daughters are cousins of Maeve Kennedy who drowned 4 days ago).
3. Restarting the economy--it won't be like flipping a switch, restarting something that was shut down suddenly.
(At my Village level, we would need to think, and perhaps move more to online activities and classes when we reopen)
Cuomo did not say so, but the truth of the matter may be that many people have died, among whom might be /already are, doctors, nurses, first responders etc.
(He spoke 2 days ago of himself not really a China expert, but working through Asia Society to get the donations of ventilators from Jack Ma and Alibaba and the Tsais)
4. At the "micro" i.e. NY level,
the Navy ship did not get many non-corona patients, bc street crime and traffic accidents down. Cuomo called trump and trump has agreed and the ship will change to corona patients, but 1000 bed capacity will move to 500, bc corona patients need more space.
5. As always, he ends by thanking medical and other professionals.
NY Pause is working--
What happens depends on what we do.
6. My 3 cents.
I am reducing the # of ppl on my bcc list bc I think
a. some of you feel crowded
b. think you know enough already
c. think you are immune
d. don't want to "get involved in pols."
e. take it personally, one woman who looked at my eye drops (Lantanoprost) shrugged and dismissed me when I said she should wash her hands after looking at the label on the bottle. She asked if it was a cure or to prevent glaucoma.
I said it depends on pressure in eye, she said she knew already. I said " It's not a cure, it's to prevent the condition from worsening." At that point she had already stopped listening. Shortly thereafter, there was a case in which a woman killed her spouse using off the counter eye drops.
So if you wish me to stop posts to you, email me, and I will.
