Burma, America, The World, Art, Literature, Political Economy through the eyes of a Permanent Exile. "We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the oppressed. Sometimes we must interfere. . . There is so much injustice and suffering crying out for our attention . . . writers and poets, prisoners in so many lands governed by the left and by the right." Poem --Timothy Snyder explains History.
Fri, Jul 17 at 2:40 AM
He's dressed all in grey and black.
He's very lean though not mean, I am sure.
As he talks about the role of history
how we can change it, his white head stands in the middle
while, his big white hands, flap about like
seagulls or albatrosses. Or big white butterflies encountered by
Stillwell trecking out of Burma
and the thousands of mostly Indian refugees walking out of Burma to
Manipur, beginning of WW II. 1939.
Most died.
