Superbug flu story--Stephen King's Night Surf--"basis of" The Stand.

http://cdn.preterhuman.net/texts/literature/books_by_title/N%20-%20S/Stephen_King/Stephen%20King%20-%20Night%20Shift%20-%20Night%20Surf.html Don't feel too bad about reading this free copy. I found it by accident because the unabridged The Stand is too long and winding for my taste and the 1978 first edition is too expensive. $78-$350 or so. Generally I don't read King because it makes me too afraid. I read one novel, way back in 1980s when I used to go to garage sales in Princeton and buy books for $1. But I do think The Shawshank Redemption is one of the best movies ever made. It is based on a Stephen King short story. There's something about Rita Hayworth in the title. There's a full length movie of The Stand with actor Viggo Mortenson and a short "Dollar Short" of Night Surf which was optioned from King for $1.00 So, it's a gift from Stephen King and we are using it for educational purposes. Thank you, Mr. King. He once said the good thing about his success was he could ask his mom to retire (she was shortly to be diagnosed with cancer) and he could "buy as many books as he wanted." He donates them after he's read them. Like most writers, he is traumatized too. It's like Tolstoy writing Anna Karenina after seeing someone jump in front of an approaching train. kmkaung 10-8-2018
