Special post--full movie--Alexander Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo--warning, prison, torture scenes.

Feels so modern in story line and plot.
I like the dark lighting, the candlelight (like the movie Lincoln) and the period, hand sewn clothes.
Maybe the first spy or political thriller.
Previously, I'd only seen portions of opera La Traviata.
No wonder the Dumas father and son were so famous.
I think my mother spoke of it, and she wasn't that into books and the arts as my father.
My father kept the books he was reading on a bookshelf in their bedroom.
I distinctly remember The Thaw.

Some clothes just horrible.
