Arms and the Man--by George Bernard Shaw

My brother did English Honors at Rangoon Univ, so he often mentioned plays like this one.
On the other hand I did Economics General Honors, a B.A., and then an M.A.so as I told Saya Myo Min once
"I can read English on my own," I am now having to educate myself.
But in honor of our mutual mentor, Raymond Aldam of the British Council, I continue to read avidly now.

A play that Raymond Adlam as well as Miss Quayle, also on the British Council acted in c. 1958 after my father had passed away,T.S. Eliot's Murder in the cathedral, was staged in the small church near Prof.Luce's Home for Waifs and Strays, near the Inya Road entrance of Rangoon Univ. I think Daw Tee Tee Luce's brother U Pe Maung Tin also lived on that short wooded lane.
In honor of all of them, I am going to dedicate my still unpublished play Shaman, which is also about Identity and was a Pew Finalist Script, won a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Award and was also praised by Edward Albee, to them. I did not know Miss Quayle nor U Myo Min that well.
So this is how my play and maybe also another novel may be dedicated.
In Honor of my Excellent Mentors, especially in English.
Professor Gordon H. Luce--founder of modern study of Burmese History, once also taught English Literature at Rangoon Univ. Member of the Bloomsbury Group and friend of among others, the economist John Maynard Keynes.
Daw Tee Tee Luce (Mrs.Luce), early pioneer social worker in Burma, winner of a Magsaysay Award. Set up Home for Waifs and Strays.
Saya U Myo Min, Prof. and Head of the Rangoon Univ. English Department. Saya, I still regret that I did not do English Honors--
But as compensation, I will have my alter ego (like Hemingway's alter ego Nick Adams) Nway Chtisone do a joint English-Economics BA.
