Left on Irrawaddy site ref "rule of law" in Burma -

Going in circles - the laws now are made by the military regime with no input from the people - same old same old Burmese kings and dictators - what use will taking it to the pseudo "parliament" do - and what if the instigators are the regime's undercover agents themselves - would be better for media to ask the generals, but then they will just say something - tired of the blither blather - might be more reliable to trust the citizen journalists.

This reviewer in Slate likes latest Murakami novel--the walled city--the walled garden.
