Read Black Hawk Down, the book, and watch the movie. It might be very graphic.

ALWAYS--read the book at the same time as the movie made from some book.
If in a crunch and you cannot find or afford the movie, read the book. Often, the original book is better--however--sometimes the movie is "easier" to understand e.g. The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje. Sometimes the movie is never made--e.g. Salman Rushdie's books. kmk
