Yes, she was "sugaring" or softening the truth, but she is not the only one -

exile radio stations with the exception of DVB are just as bad -

and it has been going on since 90s, but more pronounced now.

Daw Suu may genuinely not know the truth, as her gate keepers are too "water tight" -- and on trips overseas also both the security and access are tightly controlled by handlers -

this is counterproductive as leads her to say things that backfire or look like stone-walling.

But in truth it is pointless to find fault with her when the generals make all the decisions.

One commentator here (see below - scroll down) said that she is not actually lying but is a fan or friend of "Pyaung Gyi" - "Big Change" - by which I guess commentator means Presdt Th. S. - but as he is now no longer USDP chairman - I would like to know what you all think.
