If you live in Burma, buying a Kindle may be your best investment.
There's a program where you can share with another reader, or borrow and lend.
I don't read on Kindle right now, but may eventually.
I've read about 5-10 books on my Nook, but for me, as I write extensive marginal notes and I constantly refer back to my books for work purposes, I like paper books best.
