KNU and Burmese junta land deal a ka peace deal--

Myanmar-Karen National Union's 5-Step Roadmap to Ceasefire
1) The Burma military confiscated about 5,000 acres from Karen famers
2) KNU was given the land to build 'model peace city' - as developed by Myanmar Peace Center experts and financed by Nippon Foundation of Japan
3) the land is sliced off into small units and the sales of the plot line the KNU leaders' personal pockets.
4) the refugees who are supposed to go back and enjoy the 'peace dividends' remain stuck in their perpetual hopelessness
5) the ceasefire signing will be joyfully carried out by all concerned!
