I liked both the original Planet of the Apes, which I saw in Polish in Poland in 1968! and a recent one I saw, with Andy Serkis playing Caesar.
From this cut, I think the new movie will be just as good.
I also saw Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson as Belle and Emma Thompson as Mrs Potts.
It took a while for the story to get started, and in the interim, about 30 mins? some of the seniors in the center walked out, and I was thinking of walking out too, but eventually the story picked up.
The disembodied narrator, who seemed to be reading stage directions, was very very annoying.
Why say, "She went up the stairs, she opened a door," when we can SEE it already.
And at the end, "The screen goes black." which confirms the narrator was reading the stage directions.
It made one distanced from the actions and the actors and ultimately the story, and the narrator is redundant. She detracts, rather than adds anything to the story.
One scene of singing is too like The Sound of Music.
But I did like the songs, especially the lyrics by Tim Rice.
