Burma, America, The World, Art, Literature, Political Economy through the eyes of a Permanent Exile. "We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the oppressed. Sometimes we must interfere. . . There is so much injustice and suffering crying out for our attention . . . writers and poets, prisoners in so many lands governed by the left and by the right." Burma--We were resisting all along--not me personally--since 1957--but people like
Eugene Thaike (Chao Tzang Yawngwe)--and yet, it got worse and worse,1962, 1988--1990s and now since 2021.
On 18th Sept 1988, I heard Judy Swallow say on BBC--the day the clampdown started:
"As for the new generals, they are all the same, only more so."
My friend was so upset at the Baltimore Train Station, she forgot one of her 20 credit cards.
I'm waiting for her today. I have known her about 60 years.
