Harriet Beecher Stowe's famous novel Uncle Tom's Cabin--
written about 1860 something. Still able to move as well as amuse.
Here you see the genius of a woman who helped start a Civil War with one book.
If it can shake people up now, it is easy to see how it would really have shaken people up then.
She also does Black English brilliantly.
Please read this, you won't be disappointed.
